GAIA have named their carpets inspired by famous and rather not so famous rivers around the world, such as Indus and Ganges, and no matter their hierarchy, all of them are in danger of plastic pollution one way or another. Which is why GAIA have taken the steps to tackle this environmental issue by making their carpet backing from 100% recycled PET plastic bottles.

Take the Indus carpet by Associated Weavers for example. This amazing carpet is made from 100% Micro Polyester fibre (PES), comes with plain and speckled colours, and has a lovely Frise texture. The Associated Weavers Indus carpet is suitable for domestic applications and is an ideal choice for bedrooms, home offices, study room, guest room, hallways, living rooms and entrances. This gorgeous carpet has a total pile height measuring at 14.5mm, a real dense pile YARN where you can dig your toes into.

Another example is the Associated Weavers Gaia Ganges carpet. Made from same material as Indus carpet (100% Micro Polyester fibre) with difference in pile height which is measured at 11.5mm. There In total, 7 colour vibrant colours to choose from and to name a handful of them, Rolling Fog, London Roof, Canopy Green, Iron Grey, and Teddy Bear.
