Why fit LVT?

There are many types of flooring to choose from when outfitting your home. Among them is LVT or Luxury Vinyl Tiles. This innovative form of flooring consists of multiple layers of vinyl, compressed together to create a durable surface at a low cost. Due to its design, LVT can also be manufactured in a vast array of different colours, textures and patterns to suit almost every taste.

If you've decided you don't want to carpet, LVT could be the perfect option for you. In this short article we will explore the benefits of LVT.

Suitability for any area

LVT is one of the only flooring types that would be suitable for any room in the home. Its durability makes it perfect for high traffic areas such as hallways and living rooms, but retains a warm and soft feeling for areas such as  nurseries and bedrooms. LVT is also completely waterproof, so is a popular choice for bathrooms! Some luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) are even suitable in commercial application - where huge amount of footfall is expected/

A key characteristic is its suitability for areas with underfloor heating. Underfloor heating can often make finding a great flooring product hard, as not all brands or products are compatible. Fortunately for LVT however, it performs extremely well in these environments and is resistant to the changes in temperature and humidity.

Colour options

There is practically no other flooring type that has as much choice in colour, design or pattern than LVT. As the vinyl is layered, practically anything can be printed onto LVT, and due to the top wear resistant layer the designs and colours are resistant to fading and staining. See for yourself the range of options in our LVT section.

LVT also come with different finishes, with their edges either being 'square edged' or 'beveled' where each plank has a chamfered edge to show off each individual board.

Resilience and easy to clean

LVT is one of the most resilient flooring options available. All LVT contains a scratch resistant top layer, and boards can be replaced individually unlike when carpet gets damaged. LVT is also a great choice for those with pets or allergies, being incredibly easy to clean and maintain.

For these reasons and more LVT could be a great choice for any part of your home, and at Carpets And More we stock a huge choice of products - including our very own Habitat collection! We can also send out up to three free samples!
